Kelly’s experiences in life, research, and clinical speech language pathology inform her approach to working with transgender and gender diverse clients. Gender affirming voice therapy is never “one size fits all.” One’s voice is an expression of their unique intersections and is one way people connect and communicate with others. Kelly works with each client to understand their goals and priorities. She uses techniques designed to bring the voice to the desired pitch and resonant ranges while also promoting healthy voice habits. Then, Kelly and the client select additional speech characteristics to target such as articulation, rate and prosody to create a truly authentic voice.
